Benvenuti alla cappella online del Seminario Teologico Battista del Sud-Est. Sono Chuck Lawless, Decano degli studi dottorali e Vicepresidente della formazione spirituale qui al Southeastern. Ti ringraziamo perché abbiamo la tua Parola, tutta intera nella nostra lingua, nelle nostre mani, e abbiamo la libertà di studiarla e ascoltarla insieme. Ti preghiamo di non dare per scontato questo dono. Prego per il mio amico Walter Strickland, prego che tu lo renda capace, che gli accordi saggezza, chiarezza di mente e forza di voce. Aiutalo semplicemente a portare la tua Parola a noi, ad aprirla a noi, e poi, Dio, rendici pronti ad ascoltare, rendici disposti a permettere al tuo Spirito di convincerci, cambiarci, sfidarci e plasmarci. I believe that the Word of God will continue to encourage us. So if you have your Bible, turn to Colossians chapter 2. We will be studying verses 6 through 15 in a sermon entitled "Salvation through Christ Alone." In these verses, the Apostle Paul provides a strategy for the church in Colossae to combat heresy and reaffirm their faith in Christ alone. He emphasizes the preeminence of Christ over all philosophies and traditions, highlighting the sufficiency of His sacrifice on the cross for salvation. Paul urges believers to focus on Christ as the foundation of their faith, rejecting any teachings that add to or detract from the gospel message. By placing their trust in Christ, believers are filled with His Spirit and empowered to live according to His will. Paul also highlights the victory of Christ over the forces of darkness, demonstrating His authority and triumph over sin and death. Finally, Paul encourages believers to remain thankful for the grace and salvation they have received through Christ alone. In conclusion, Paul's message in Colossians chapter 2 reminds us of the essential truth that salvation is found in Christ alone. In a world filled with competing philosophies and traditions, believers are called to remain steadfast in their faith, focusing on Christ as the source of their salvation and the foundation of their lives. As we navigate the challenges of life, let us remember the sufficiency of Christ and the victory He has already won on our behalf. Let us reject any teachings or ideologies that seek to detract from the gospel message and instead fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. In Him, we find the hope, peace, and joy that are available to us through His grace and forgiveness. let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the salvation and victory we have through Christ alone. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith, focusing on Him as the source of our hope and the foundation of our lives. Give us discernment to recognize and reject any teachings or ideologies that detract from the gospel message. We thank you for the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice on the cross and for the victory He has won over sin and death. May we always live in the light of this truth and remain thankful for the grace and salvation we have received through Him. In Jesus' name, amen.
