Recording in the Streets of Paris 🎙️

You're listening to Luke's English podcast, where you can expect an engaging and insightful discussion on various topics. In this episode, things sound a little different because I've decided to record it in the streets of Paris. As you listen, you'll get the experience of being right here with me, amidst the noises and the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Now, let me explain why I've chosen this unconventional recording location.

Delays and Disruptions

Hello, dear listeners! I wanted to quickly record this episode to let you know that Luke's English podcast is still very much alive. However, I apologize for the recent delay in uploading new episodes. The truth is, I've been facing various challenges and disruptions lately, which have made it difficult to stick to my usual schedule. Allow me to shed some light on what's been going on.

A Quote from John Lennon

Like the famous quote from John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" song, life happens while we're busy making plans. And that's precisely what has been transpiring in my world lately. As I've been working on plans for the podcast and envisioning the future, real-life events have been unfolding and demanding my immediate attention.

Reasons for the Delays

Several factors have contributed to the recent delays in podcast episodes. Firstly, my daughter fell sick with COVID-19, and naturally, I had to stay home and take care of her. Rest assured, she's now perfectly fine, but it did disrupt my work routine for a week. Moreover, both my wife and I got ill during the same period, although with non-COVID-related illnesses. Thankfully, we've both recovered fully, but it did further impact my podcasting schedule.

Additionally, my teaching responsibilities at the British Council take up a significant portion of my time. I teach three mornings a week and spend Wednesday afternoons with my daughter. These commitments, combined with household tasks and various errands, have left limited time for podcast-related work.

The Frustration of Waiting

I must confess, I'm feeling a bit frustrated by the delays. As much as I enjoy my current activities and appreciate the blessings in my life, I long to see my vision come to life – the image of me sitting in my new podcast room, everything set up just the way I want it. However, it seems like every time I get closer to making that vision a reality, unexpected circumstances arise, pushing my goal even further away.

Listener Reactions on Twitter

During this period, I reached out to my podcast's loyal listeners on Twitter to keep them informed while I navigate these delays. Many responded with words of encouragement and understanding. Zoe Ching wished me a quick recovery, while Ginty Nyog suggested I take care, adding a humorous touch to the conversation. Natalie, Marcin, Feyi Magfury, and others also extended their well-wishes, proving once again the strong bond between this podcast and its devoted listeners.

Updates on Future Episodes

In the meantime, while you patiently await new episodes, let me share some exciting news. Firstly, I recently appeared on the Film Gold podcast, discussing the timeless classic "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." If you're a fan of this British comedy gem, make sure to check out this lively discussion. I also joined Anthony Rotuno for a conversation on meditation and its connection to second language acquisition—particularly learning English. Stay tuned for the release of these amazing conversations.

Additionally, I understand some of you have been waiting for the completion of Premium Episode 33. I'm working diligently on finalizing its production and will release it as soon as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
