Introduction
👋 Hey everyone, James Jernigan here from James Jernigan SEO and Digital Marketing, formerly known as Baltimore City SEO. Today, I want to share with you my personal experience and review of William Jones SEO, also known as Rank Fortress Digital Agency or Rank Fortress Academy, depending on the website you're looking at.
The Encounter with William Jones
A while back, William Jones reached out to me after coming across one of my YouTube videos. He expressed interest in starting a channel about SEO and asked if I would be willing to be interviewed on his channel to discuss YouTube SEO. Intrigued by the idea of networking and building our audiences, I agreed.
Plagiarism and Unethical Behavior
However, before appearing on his channel, I received warnings from several individuals, specifically from members of Tim Kellert's Google My Business group on Facebook. They cautioned me about William Jones and his history of copying others' work, including Tim Kellert's entire Google My Business eBook. I took these warnings seriously but decided to give William Jones the benefit of the doubt.
Despite the warnings, I went ahead and appeared on his channel. Unfortunately, my suspicions were soon confirmed when I noticed that he had launched a course on CTR manipulation shortly after our collaboration. What was more concerning was that the video description he used to promote his course was an exact word-for-word copy of my own YouTube description, which was ranking number one on the platform at the time.
Cloning and Harassment
I called him out on his plagiarism by commenting on the video while he was live. Rather than addressing the issue, he chose to delete my comment without any explanation. I captured screenshots of our conversation, where he denied plagiarizing my content, even though it was evident that he had. Frustrated by his dishonesty, I chose to share these screenshots publicly on my website.
To my surprise, I discovered that someone had cloned my business website, jamesjerniganseo.com, without my authorization. This illegal replica was hosted on the same custom name servers as Rank Fortress Academy's website. I confronted William Jones about this matter via email, but he chose to ignore my inquiries. As a result, I had no choice but to file a DMCA takedown request to have the cloned website removed.
Black Hat SEO and Unethical Practices
I often discuss black hat SEO practices, which involve techniques that do not comply with Google's terms of use. However, this should not be confused with ethical concerns. Plagiarism and content theft are clear ethical violations, and it was disheartening to see an individual claiming to be an SEO expert engage in such behavior.
Warning for Potential Future Collaborators
Considering my personal experience, I caution anyone considering doing business with William Jones or Rank Fortress Digital Agency. If someone openly and flagrantly plagiarizes content and shows no remorse when confronted, it raises concerns about ethical standards and professionalism. I encourage you to conduct your own research and reach out to prominent SEO figures who have been interviewed on his channel in the past to inquire whether they still associate with him.
Evidence of Plagiarism and Website Cloning
For those who want to see the evidence firsthand, I have provided links below where you can find screenshots of the plagiarized video descriptions, the cloned website, and the name servers hosting the illegitimate site.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my review of William Jones SEO and Rank Fortress Digital Agency is fueled by my personal encounters with unprofessionalism, plagiarism, and website cloning. While I don't derive any pleasure from giving negative reviews, it is important to inform others about such unethical practices. I hope you find this warning valuable and make informed decisions when collaborating with SEO professionals.
