Getting the Remnant of Rift

To start the Black Star Awakening Weapon Questline, you need to prepare the Remnant of Rift. This item can be obtained by killing Dark Rift bosses with a low chance or by purchasing it from the Central Market, although it may be sold out due to high demand. Seasonal characters, however, can acquire the Remnant of Rift through the Season Morning Froze Flower exchange quest. Simply bring 25 pieces of the Season Morning Froze Flower to Patrigio NPC at Velia to obtain the Remnant of Rift. It's important to note that this exchange quest can only be completed once per family.

Obtaining the Specter Energy

In addition to the Remnant of Rift, you will also need to gather Specter Energy for the Black Star Awakening Weapon Questline. Specter Energy can be obtained by grinding at Thornwood Forest in the O'dyllita region. The more you grind, the more Specter Energy you will acquire. Make sure to stock up on this resource before proceeding with the questline.

Preparing the Boss Gear

Before embarking on the Black Star Awakening Weapon Questline, it's essential to have a Boss Gear with a base level of 0 enhancement. This can be any kind of Boss gear, whether it's a weapon or armor piece. However, it's important to note that Boss gear with an enchantment level of +1 cannot be used as a material for crafting the Black Star weapon. Make sure to have a suitable Boss Gear ready for the questline.

Starting the Black Star Awakening Weapon Quest

To begin the Black Star Awakening Weapon Questline, simply right-click on the Remnant of Rift in your inventory and click on the NPC location. This will direct you to Martha Kiyen at the Northern Wheat Plantation. Speak to Martha Kiyen and choose the Black Star gear questline that you want to craft. Even if your character hasn't completed the main questline, you can still embark on the Black Star questline.

Meeting Martha Kiyen

After speaking with Martha Kiyen, you'll need to talk to another NPC beside her and hand over the Remnant of Rift. This will complete the initial quest and unlock the next quest called "Black Star Awakening Weapon Tense Archeologists." Proceed to talk to Brahm in Calpheon City to continue the questline.

Continuing the Questline

The questline continues as you meet various NPCs and complete tasks to progress further towards crafting the Black Star Awakening Weapon. From meeting Bacho Ladericcio at the Abandoned Monastery to examining Guy Seric's Memories, each step will bring you closer to obtaining the powerful weapon.

Crafting the Black Star Awakening Weapon

Once you've completed all the necessary quests and gathered the required materials, it's time to craft the Black Star Awakening Weapon. Speak to Dorin Mogrim inside the Helm Cave at Mediah to initiate the crafting process. Hand over the Blackstar Claw and choose the Crafting Blackstar Jordun interaction. Dorin Mogrim will begin crafting the weapon for you.

Enhancing the Black Star Awakening Weapon

Now comes the exciting part - enhancing the Black Star Awakening Weapon. Starting from +1 to +15, you will need Concentrated Magical Black Stone weapons for enhancement. The chance of success varies at each enhancement level, so it's essential to have fail stacks and advice of Valks to increase your chances. However, keep in mind that enhancing the weapon can be a challenging and RNG-based process, so be prepared for setbacks.

To reach higher enhancement levels such as PRI, DUO, TRI, and TET, you'll need Flawless Magical Black Stones and Cron Stones to protect against downgrades. Again, having fail stacks and advice of Valks will prove beneficial. Be aware of the durability of the weapon and repair it as needed. Keep persevering until you reach your desired enhancement level.
