How to Use Annihilate to Solo Sevenstar Venusaur Raids
What's up, fellow trainers! It's your girl Diana, back with another YouTube video. Yesterday, I shared some counters for the Sevenstar Venusaur raids, and today, I'm excited to show you how you can use one of those Pokémon to solo the raid. I know there's been a lot of talk about the powerful HU and Goodra strat, but not everyone has access to those Pokémon. So, I'm here to show you how to accomplish the raid using a Pokémon that's already in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Let's dive right into it!
Counters for Sevenstar Venusaur Raids
Before we jump into the strategy, let's quickly recap the counters we discussed in the previous video. The Pokémon I'll be focusing on is none other than Annihilate, a Gen N Pokémon with fighting and ghost typing. In this raid, I have equipped Annihilate with the Shell Bell. Now, let's take a closer look at Annihilate's build.
Annihilate's Build
To maximize Annihilate's performance, I've made sure its stats are optimized. It has a full HP and attack build, along with an adamant nature. I've chosen the ability to Fant, as Venusaur has the potential to drop your stats, especially with its move Earth Power that reduces your special defense. The move set is also crucial for this strategy. Rain Dance cancels out the opponent's Sunny Day, Lear lowers Venusaur's defense, Rage Fist is our main attacking move, and Bulk Up helps increase the damage dealt.
Strategy Overview
Now, let's break down the strategy to solo the Sevenstar Venusaur raids using Annihilate. It's important to note that this strategy might not be the fastest, but it's effective and doesn't require you to faint during the battle. You'll faint strategically to come back fresh and avoid wasting time on healing or accidentally getting knocked out while talized.
Setting Up Sunny Day
At the beginning of the battle, Venusaur will set up Sunny Day to activate its Chlorophyll ability, boosting its speed and enhancing the effects of Growth. While it attacks with Petal Blizzard, we can start setting up Rain Dance to cancel out the sun and level the playing field.
Cancelling Out the Sun
After canceling out the sun, we want to lower Venusaur's defense using the move Lear. This move will go off first, thanks to Annihilate's speed advantage. As Venusaur retaliates with Earth Power, we strategically faint, preparing to come back stronger.
Strategically Fainting
While fainting might seem counterintuitive, it allows us to reset and return to the battle fresh. Instead of wasting time on healing, we can focus on delivering powerful attacks and taking down Venusaur efficiently.
Returning Fresh to the Battle
After a brief pause, we're back in action! We terize to boost our attack and follow it up with Bulk Up, enhancing the damage output of our rage fists. Remember, the more Venusaur hits us, the more our rage fists power up.
Taking Hits and Powering Up Rage Fist
As we continue our onslaught with rage fists, we'll inevitably take damage from Venusaur's Earth Power. This is where the Shell Bell comes in, providing HP recovery. With each hit we land, our HP will quickly bounce back, ensuring we stay in the fight.
Breaking the Shield
We relentlessly deliver rage fists, gradually breaking down Venusaur's Shield. Thanks to Annihilate's relentless attacks, supported by the rain, we're able to deal significant damage. The shield will diminish, and Venusaur's HP will drop to the yellow zone.
Healing Back to Full HP
Even though Venusaur resets Sunny Day, we're not worried anymore. Our rage fists are dealing substantial damage, and with each hit, our HP recovers thanks to the Shell Bell. Plus, to our advantage, Venusaur gets paralyzed, further hindering its speed advantage.
Delivering the Final Rage Fist
In the final push, our relentless rage fists will bring down Venusaur. The shield is shattered, and its HP is in the yellow zone. With each punch, Venusaur's health plummets. It attempts to attack with Sian, but now we outspeed it and deliver the final rage fist, sealing our victory.
Farming Drops in Sevenstar Venusaur Raids
By following this solo strategy, not only can you defeat Sevenstar Venusaur raids, but you can also farm valuable drops. With a bit of luck, you may acquire Eda Mysa and ability patches, making this raid an excellent opportunity to strengthen your team.

FAQ:
Q: Can I use Annihilate in other raids?
A: Annihilate's setup can work effectively in other raids as well, particularly against Pokémon weak to its fighting and ghost typing. Experiment and adapt the strategy to different raid battles.
Q: Are there any alternative items I can equip on Annihilate?
A: While the Shell Bell enhances Annihilate's survivability, you can experiment with other items like Choice Band or Life Orb to boost its offensive capabilities. Test different combinations and find what works best for you.
Q: Can Annihilate solo other legendary raids?
A: Soloing legendary raids can be challenging, and it heavily depends on the specific Pokémon and raid boss. While Annihilate can be a valuable asset, it might require additional support from other Pokémon to successfully solo higher tier legendary raids.
